On 10 February 2021, a virtual convening focused on accelerating deployment of investor resources into Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) was held, including representatives from over 30 leading asset owners and asset managers totalling approximately $10 trillion in assets under management.
These investors came together to discuss A 2030 Investment Vision for Natural Climate Solutions, a vision developed and presented by Generation Investment Management, New Forests, Ceres, Conservation International, Forest Trends, Systemiq, The Nature Conservancy, and World Resources Institute. The Vision seeks alignment of institutional investment portfolios with a sustainable land use transition that is critical to achieve Net Zero emissions, protect biodiversity, and support the Sustainable Development Goals. Hundreds of billions of dollars need to be invested in Natural Climate Solutions over the next decade to meet climate targets—yet investment to date has been limited. The Vision encourages investors to Engage, Invest, and Innovate.
