Hedge fund

What is Hedge fund?
A hedge fund is a private investment partnership that uses its less regulated nature to generate investment opportunities that are distinct from those offered by traditional investment vehicles, which are subject to regulations such as those restricting their use of derivatives and leverage.
Types of hedge fund strategies
Hedge funds represent a wide-ranging set of vehicles that are differentiated primarily by the investment strategy implemented, including long-short, equity market neutral, volatility, event-driven, reinsurance, convertible arbitrage, distressed, managed futures, and macro strategies.
On our Impact Database, hedge funds use long short and reinsurance strategies and make up only 1% of our database, the least targeted asset class.
