Followed by Sandeep Farias, Founder of Elevar Equity, that emphasizes that discipline and focus are needed when allocating capital to build companies that invest in low-income communities.
Arturo Benito, CEO, and Founder at Impact Bridge shares his approach on scaling investments in emerging markets by using of third-parties’ tools to assess managers and follow what DFIs are developing. Gary Vaughan-Smith, founding partner and CIO at SilverStreet Capital claimed that a clear target is needed when investing in emerging economies and a team on the ground is essential to execute the strategy successfully.
A consensus among panellists lies on the opportunities of scale in emerging economies depending on having a robust investor thesis, a good track record, and political risk insurance, ensuring the sustainability of investments in a long-term horizon.
